early dinner with the kids and it was delicious! We had pizza and pasta and I really enjoyed mopping up the extra sauce with the kids crusts :) generous serves all around, we will be back

Very expen...

sive for the type of service and atmosphere you get. Great food , kid friendly, dietary options, however unlcean dishes lying about, cleaning products on display , not having half the menu options on a Saturday, also only having vegan cheese for one pizza isn't cutting it. The staff where apologetic however . Probably won't be back, for a family of 3 $140 is ridiculous!

Left disap...

pointed never to return. We dined in and the three staff could not have been more disinterested in us being there. (We were the only customers dining in) No greeting just blank looks as if we were an inconvenience. They were more interested in hiding out the back chatting. Pizza was a great size and ok. The calamari was fantastic.

-Two broke...

n air cons staring at us in sweltering humidity (no offer for a solution, I ended up keeping the front door open for some minor relief). -Sat in darkness because ceiling light not working. -No offer to clarify any food that was out of stock (later learnt salmon unavailable). -Water not replenished (had to find staff to ask for more). -Our 7 year old was asked if she wanted her ice cream at the time of her main meal (first red flag they were keen to rush us). -Mithered about ordering desert whilst quarter of the way through our main meal. -Requested that we pay the bill whilst still eating desert. -Asked to leave the restaurant before finished our drinks. First impressions are everything & needless to say, we'll not be back in a hurry.

Do not ord...

er online! I’ve ordered online for pick up twice & each time I arrived & they hadn’t even seen the order let alone started it. Pizzas are usually incredibly so we put up with the poor customer service, but tonight the pizza bases were soggy. Definitely not up to their usual standard.

Pizza was ...

awesome, however the other choices were hit and miss, my salmon was good, but my hubby's and my friend's pasta wasn't so good. It wasnt bad, just not flavours we like or were expecting. They were out of everything we tried to order. Staff were nice, just not up with everything.. I think its more of a takeaway with seating, rather than an Italian restaraunt. I'm not dissing it, just not loving it except for the pizzas they were great.

Rainy Tues...

day called for a pizza lunch. After a quick search in Google La Zucca was one of the few open in the area so headed down with some friends. Given it was a Tuesday we had the shop to ourselves. Very cosy atmosphere, they have done a great job fitting it out. Booths out the back and nice tables in the middle with lounge seating against the wall. I assume it was the owner that served us, she was lovely and took our drink/pizza orders. Big wood fired oven in the kitchen promised good things in the pizza department. We got a pepperoni and margherita (great pizza to get a baseline of any place). After a short wait we got our pizzas served to our table. The flavours on both pizza were decent. Napoli sauce was simple with a little kick of herbs. Cheese on each pizza again was decent and not overly oily. The only thing missing was that wood fired crisp. The crunch you get at the crust with a nice little crisp on the base. Unfortunately our pizza was floppy and powdery on the base, they probably could of gone another 5mins in the oven. For around $20 the pizza is fairly small for the price and will feed 1 person easily. Whilst it wasn't the best pizza, it was still decent and so its not a bad option of you are local to the area.

We went he...

re for years because they had the best lasagna in the area, until recently. The last 3 times have been absolutely disgusting. We stuck it out for 3 return visits over 6 weeks because of how good it used to be, in the hope it was just a bad batch or 2, but the lasagnes now are burnt to a crisp, hard as a rock (I thought I’d break my teeth) and tasted so bad that even my dogs refused to eat them, no joke. The lasagna used to be fresh, soft with a lovely red sauce, now look at the photo and this is what they are serving up for $27ea! Such a disappointment as they really were my favourite restaurant on the Northside for years.

We arrived...

at 5:30 as we have young kids and put in our order and the food came out staggered at 6:45 and the was only 1 other couple in the restaurant. The food was very average and we also ordered another pizza take away for lunches. When we got the pizza it was extremely undercooked and tiny. We also order the parmigiana and the waitress advised they had no side salad and we said that was fine and we’ll take whatever else there is as a side. Unfortunately there was nothing. We got a pub grub parmigiana on a bread and butter plate and nothing else for $24. There was 9 of us and spent well over $600 and will never be back. Very disappointing unfortunately.
